Beyond the BIG News!!

Before I started blogging about our summer vacation with the twins, we had been talking about GETTING THE BIG NEWS!! When our ultrasound tech told me it was twins.....let's just say it's a good thing I was already laying down. The whole thing is particularly funny because I didn't find out until I was half way through my pregnancy. Yup. That's right - I found out at my 20 week ultrasound!!

We had been at a neighborhood BBQ the prior weekend and a bunch of my girlfriends were asking me how I was feeling. I told them that I was surprised how lousy I still felt considering I was now into my 2nd trimester. I was gaining weight like crazy, still nauseous and tired all the time and I just didn't know why. To which one of my friends immediately replied, "You sound just like I did and I was having twins!!" Ha! HA! HAA!! we all responded.

When I went to my ultrasound appointment the following Monday, I told the technician that my objective had changed from; tell me what sex it is - TO - confirm for me there's only one in there!!??!! I told the technician the story from the neighborhood BBQ and she chuckled as well.

Then there was a long, long, very long pause as she begin to scan my LARGE belly. After what seemed like an eternity she exclaimed, "it looks like your friend was right!!"

Again....it's a good thing I was already laying down.
